Day in the Life Series Launch: Helen Byrne

Hidden Heroes: Introducing a Day in the Life as told by our staff in Croydon
We go behind-the-scenes to bring you the real-life stories of our staff caring for Croydon.
In a new series of short films, Day in the Life, will show what it takes to care for one of London’s largest boroughs.
Giving a unique insight into what makes #TeamCroydon, we speak to our staff on the frontline and in essential support roles, to ask in their own words:
· What do they enjoy most about their role?
· How COVID-19 has impacted them?
· What makes them proud to work for Croydon Health Services?
The series launches with Helen Byrne, a physiotherapist in our LIFE (Living Independently for Everyone) team, who helps people, including the frail and elderly, regain their independence after hospital treatment.
Helen takes us through a typical day of caring for people in our community, touching on her favourite elements of the job, as well as the aspects of the role that are deemed more challenging. In an honest display of expression, we also hear how COVID-19 has impacted her work and home life as she continues to help the NHS care for those affected by the pandemic.

Over the coming weeks, Day in the Life, will highlight the efforts of our doctors, surgeons, nurses and midwives, but also our teams behind the scenes, such as our cleaners, porters, administrators and volunteers.
